We are an internationally renowned institute with high standards regarding quality and atmosphere. Our mission is to train inspiring musicians who can make a difference in our society. We live up to our motto “Share your talent. Move the world” by challenging you to share your talent and passion for music with the world around you. As a future musician or music teacher you will move the world; by inspiring, motivating and touching people’s hearts. Studying at the Prince Claus Conservatoire means that you will be immersed in an inspiring international environment. We are known internationally for our innovative ideas on studying music. We are convinced that having close contact with our students is of great importance, you are not anonymous when you choose to study with us. We have gained the title Best Conservatoire of the Netherlands a number of times. Welcome to Groningen! Joris Teepe and his colleagues are a faculty of seasoned professional musicians who have played with many of the greatest musicians in jazz. They are part of the rich musical community of New York City, the city that is the centre of the jazz world. This life experience and commitment directly effects how they teach; the 'New York comes to Groningen' program is a more pragmatic, performanceoriented way of studying jazz than what is often taught at other conservatoires. This means that when you enter the conservatoire, you will be performing from the first day. The theory that you study is applied to real playing situations, and in general classes are focussed on making you ready to play jazz on the highest professional level. Piano study, lessons in arranging and compositions all find quick applications in studio projects and student performances. Programme outline You start performing publicly from day one. The emphasis is on theory, although this relates to how you can apply this during performances. You will also learn to play the piano in order to understand the theory. You participate in studio projects and you will follow courses in jazz arranging and composition. Your main instrument and the New York faculty classes are the focus throughout your entire study programme. In addition to your private lessons, you play in ensembles (Jazz, Fusion, Latin, Big Band and Soul Band). We organise a trip to New York every year. The didactical subjects and musical entrepreneurship are offered in the second and third year during which work placements play a major role. At the end of the fourth year you will complete your studies with a final concert, displaying the musical vision that you have developed. After graduation Since you are trained to be a professional musician you are equipped to start a career, performing in various ensembles and in all styles of jazz. You know how to promote yourself and your group; you compose and arrange music for all kinds of ensembles and orchestras. You start teaching others at a music school or privately. Most graduates are self-employed, pursuing ‘portfolio careers’ that combine performance with teaching. [-]

One of the key ingredients for the supremacy conquered by Italy in the fashion can no doubt be attributed to the skill of his model makers, the real heart of the planning process that led to the creation of a collection. The pattern is in fact the figure that the company interprets and puts on paper the ideas of the designer, translating a graphic in a project (the pattern) ready to be transferred onto the fabric, a professional able to manage the process that goes from until the tailoring of the prototype. The course promoted by IED Venice aims to train these valuable resources, through a course that relies on a central role in the design, the project, the development of the traditional pattern and the use of CAD technology, techniques tailored to the realization of prototype. For this reason, from an educational point of view, the theoretical disciplines will be supplemented by laboratory activities, guiding the students in acquiring the technical skills necessary to create and get to effectively present its final portfolio. [+]

THIS PROGRAM 'TAUGHT IN ITALIAN The program is divided into four semesters, for a total duration of two years, each with specific objectives. The first year of the Pattern Making Course - Professional Training Program is dedicated to the acquisition of basic training of specific cultural references on the evolution of the history of fashion, tissue technology and their recognition, project methodology, the basics of modeling, the tailoring techniques, use of sewing machines. During the second year, however, the student acquires awareness and competencies in specific professional areas. The project activities are supported by the study of technical disciplines such as the development of the pattern with CAD technology and deepening in the field of tailoring techniques, processing bases of the model and the technique of moulage. The teaching method is adopted for inclusion in the professional world, through direct design and construction of the prototype. On an annual basis and in conformity with the teachings of the training, students have the chance to experience the skills acquired during workshops in the form of workshops and then confronted with different methods and reality. At the end of the course students will have acquired the basic technical skills appropriate to develop a fashion project starting from conception until the three-dimensional development of the project.
