The programme aims to provide training in essential critical thinking, technical and aesthetic skills of acting for the stage. Caribbean cultural performance, modern and post modern perspectives of theatre underpin the approaches of the curriculum. Students will be continuously engaged with the analysis and development of their creative proficiency in relation to individual cultural identity, community and the importance of their independent voice as emerging theatre artists.
Students are equipped to develop and strengthen their skills in creative leadership. This is facilitated through the exploration of theory and practice of the role and processes of the stage director as creative artist/cultural agent with a sound appreciation of the politics and aesthetics of traditional and popular performance....
