While only the size of the state of California, Japan is a world leader in technology and boasts the third-largest economy. In Japanese studies, students examine the country’s power, people, language, society and traditions to gain a better understanding of this tiny global powerhouse.

Students who complete a part of their degree in Asia are growing in numbers. Currently, the second and the third biggest economies are in Asia. Without limitation, students have described their time in Asia as the best experience of their lives. Many students and scholars investigate these topics in relation to historical and present-day events in East-Asia and the West. Such an approach relates their study and research not only to other disciplines but also to other nations, civilizations, and geographic areas. -
