Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and the human mind. At Middlesex University Dubai, we offer a solid grounding in modern psychology – a body of theoretical and practical knowledge concerning human behaviour and experiences. This programme combines a broad education in psychology with a specialist strand to develop counselling and interpersonal skills together with an understanding of the theory and practice of counselling.

Students interested in the production, processing, packaging, safety and/or transportation of the world’s food supply would be interested in the Food Engineering specialization.

This programme balances approximately 75% Psychology with 25% Business and Management courses. Psychology courses cover a range of core approaches to psychology as well as research design and analysis and applied specialist topics. The curriculum is based on that recommended by the British Psychological Society. Business Management courses include a mixture of core management subjects and a range of optional courses, allowing students to tailor learning to their personal preferences.

Students of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology will be equipped with the theoretical and conceptual framework of psychology as a discipline. In addition, students will also be exposed to the basic understanding of the context within which the mental health industry practices and applies.

The Food Technology program at i3L aims to satisfy the needs of the society for sustainable food quality, safety, and security. This field applies the principles of science to ensure safe manufacture, packaging, and distribution. Students will complete a rigorous scientific curriculum that balances classroom lectures with practical sessions in our state-of-the-art laboratories. The Food Innovation Centre allows students to have training in our modern, on-campus food processing facilities. We strongly encourage our students to create innovative food products.

The program develops the necessary skills and knowledge base to assist in and manage the provision of meals via an institutional food service.

This program aims to provide undergraduate students with a solid basic foundation on the major areas of psychology, which may also be used in preparation for further studies and training in particular specializations of psychology or other professions such as education, law, and business management.
