Economics

A bachelor’s degree is a four-year undergraduate degree and is the standard for higher education throughout most of the world. Bachelor’s degrees can be earned at state universities, at private universities, at community colleges and via online universities.

The purpose of Economics is to study how scarce goods are distributed and consumed. It studies markets, businesses, pricing or consumers in its realm of microeconomics. And it covers fiscal policy, inflation, unemployment or monetary policy in macroeconomics. Good economists are increasingly important in order to prevent and improve economical situations of different sectors and industries.

Education in the United Kingdom is a devolved matter with each of the countries of the United Kingdom having separate systems under different governments: the UK Government is responsible for England, and the Scottish Government, the Welsh Government and the Northern Ireland Executive are responsible for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, respectively.
