The purpose of Economics is to study how scarce goods are distributed and consumed. It studies markets, businesses, pricing or consumers in its realm of microeconomics. And it covers fiscal policy, inflation, unemployment or monetary policy in macroeconomics. Good economists are increasingly important in order to prevent and improve economical situations of different sectors and industries.

Education in the United States is mainly provided by the public sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: state, local, and federal, in that order. You'll also gain an understanding of the risk and return characteristics of investment instruments. In the Investments course, you'll manage a one-million-dollar virtual portfolio. You'll learn to invest in stocks, bonds, options, commodities, and foreign exchange futures. In Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, you'll perform macro-economic, industry, and security analyses. As part of this project, you'll learn how to examine a firm’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. -
