The dietetics program at BGSU is a 4-year didactic program, otherwise known as a DPD, which leads to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics. Successful completion of the program is the first step to becoming a registered dietitian. Following completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, graduates must apply for and complete an accredited dietetics internship and pass the national registration examination to become a registered dietitian.

This specialization builds on the BSc in Nutrition and Food Science degree to focus on Dietetics and Nutrition. Be part of an interprofessional healthcare team translating scientific, medical, and nutritional information into practical, individualised diets and meal plans for people.

Job prospects are bright for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists—especially those who graduate from UNC’s accredited dietetics bachelor’s degree program. About 75 percent of our students (above the national average) are admitted to postgraduate internships, which are required before you can take the national board examination to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences (HNFAS) is the only dietetics program offered in Hawai'i. Students are expected to rigorously apply their knowledge and skills in food science and nutrition for daily living and good health.
