With courses in corrections, criminology, physical conditioning and policing, a criminal justice program is mainly designed for those who wish to work in law enforcement. Students may learn practical skills, such as CPR, that can benefit them in their future careers.

There are several institutions for higher learning located throughout Puerto Rico, with The University of Puerto Rico being the oldest and largest. As a territory of the United States, citizens may have access to additional opportunities for education.
