The Academy of Fine Arts Aldo Galli - IED Como proposes the five-year course of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration in the evening time, to meet the needs of many workers with a previous training which, however, from a legislative point of view, did not confer the title of restorer. A special committee evaluates the previous study plan and its compatibility with the ministerial one to declare the student's year of admission and allow him to complete the studies and access, with the final thesis examination, the examination of has been enabling the restored profession. For this course the frequency is reduced, but the qualitative criteria and the training plan are maintained as required by the Ministry on the basis of the statutory autonomy of the Academy of Fine Arts Aldo Galli - IED Como. The course aims at training specialized in the conservation of the artistic heritage, providing students with the tools necessary for the development of a proper restoration whose definition takes account not only of the individual specific characteristics, but also of many variables traceable in different environmental conditions and aging of the constituent materials.
