Shihezi University has been recognized by the Ministry of Education, P.R China to enroll international students for the MBBS degree course in an English medium. There are only 45 medical universities out of 200 that have the authority to enroll international MBBS students in English medium in the list of the year 2015. Shihezi University is also listed in The World Directory of Medical Universities published by WHO. The International Medical Education Directory (IMED), Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECMFG), and the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). Since the year 2004, the university has enrolled ten batches of medical students from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc into the MBBS degree courses. Nine batches of international MBBS students have been graduated from this medical university as of 2015. The MBBS graduates have excelled in the medical council licensing examinations in their respective countries including Nepalese Medical Council Licensing Examinations and Medical Council of India Screening Test Examinations while other graduates have passed USMLE licensing Examination to practice in the USA and Australia Medical Council Licensing Examination to practice in Australia. Graduates of this medical university, school of medicine have been employed in reputed government or private hospitals in their home countries. -
