A bachelor’s degree is a post-secondary degree awarded after completed 120 credits. It usually takes eight semesters to complete a Bachelor’s degree. This is an all-round figure who is able to start and run a fashion business unit, whether it’s a single production line or a whole company, a retail chain or e-commerce, a single brand or a whole portfolio, with conventional or unconventional promotion tools, inside or outside of the box. Business of Fashion is 40% Business, 30% Communications, 20% Vision and 10% Design. There is vertical progress, from learning the basic skills in every area in the first year to the most practical skills in the third, and then in the master’s level of the fourth year when soft skills and a sense of leadership are developed. Horizontal progress is guaranteed with two projects per year, executed to a level to include in a personal portfolio. Courses are run by teachers from the industry with hands-on, original materials. Business of Fashion students have access to monthly guest lectures from experts and visionaries, an immense library and the computer labs. Field trips to companies, fashion shows and trade fairs in Italy and Europe, as well as applied projects with companies, are all organised throughout the four years. Candidates with a secondary-school (high school) diploma or equivalent are eligible and selected after an enrolment questionnaire and an interview with the course’s leading teacher.
