Introduction
Sport Management majors will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. The Sport Management major prepares individuals for entry-level positions of management and service in a variety of sports organizations in the public and private sectors. The curriculum includes major and related coursework in sport management and business, electives, and a culminating internship experience.
Study Abroad Opportunities
Jamaica Spring Break for Community Health Promotion – This opportunity provides students with an immersive study of Jamaican life, culture, community health needs, priorities, and resources. The course is a unique blend of global community engagement and cultural exchange. Prior to traveling abroad, students are involved in planning and developing a community health education/health promotion (CHE/HP) program in collaboration with community health counterparts in Jamaica. While on the island, students are fully integrated into the community and involved in implementing and evaluating the CHE/HP program which will address priority health needs in the Negril community.

Internship Opportunities
Sport management students are required to intern during their senior year and have received placements at numerous professional and collegiate sports organizations including National Basketball Association, National Football League, Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, United States Olympic Committee, College Athletics, Sports Agent/ Event Firms, ESPN, Nike, Under Armour.
Sports Science and Wellness students per accreditation requirements will complete supervised student teaching experiences at both local elementary and secondary schools.
Kinesiology students are required to complete 150 practicum hours with two health-related organizations during their senior year. Practicum sites include Physical therapy clinics, Hospital rehabilitation settings, Rehabilitation centers, Athletic training sites at the high school and collegiate levels, strength, and conditioning programs within the community setting, and college athletics.
