Welcome to the UNA Psychology program. The mission of the psychology department is to assist students to achieve their personal and professional potential through training in scientific methods and discipline-specific knowledge in the study of behavior, mental processes, and physiological processes, promoting a spirit of active inquiry and critical thinking and fostering a sense of social responsibility in the global community.

The department houses five full-time faculty members with expertise in both the applied and research fields of psychology with particular emphasis on Clinical Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Cognitive Psychology, and Social Psychology. There is a strong emphasis on research, critical thinking, and application of psychology to traditional settings such as education and mental health settings; however, we also strive to apply psychology to other areas such as public policy and industry.

Our alumni have been successful in entering entry-level psychology-related employment as well as Masters and Ph.D. level graduate school programs.
