The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology programme at IUMW provides students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and practical application of psychological theories.

The programme will also inspire graduates to be innovative and proficient in a foreign language. At the end of the programme, students will acquire the knowledge, skills, techniques and ethics that are relevant in psychology.

Entry Requirements

Malaysian Students:

  • Pass STPM with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects ; OR
  • Pass A-Levels with 2 principal or equivalent, recognised by the Malaysian Government and University Senate; OR
  • Pass Matriculation under the Ministry of Education with at least a CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent; OR
  • Pass Foundation Studies with at least a CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent; OR
  • Possess a Diploma with at least a CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • Pass UEC with minimum of Grade B in at least five (5) subjects; AND
  • Credit in Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry or Biology or General Science in SPM / O-Level / Pre-University; AND Pass in English in SPM / O-Level / Pre-University

+ Minimum three (3) credits in SPM are required for PTPTN application

International Students:

  • Pass A-Level with 2 principal or equivalent, recognised by the Malaysian Government and University Senate; AND Credit in Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry or Biology or General Science in O-Level / Pre-University; AND
  • Pass IELTS with minimum Band 5, or TOEFL with a minimum score of 500; OR
  • Pass IUMW Intensive English Programme at Level 6

Note:

  • Students are required to sit for IUMW English Placement Test upon registration
  • Other equivalent qualifications that are recognised by the Malaysian Government and University Senate will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

English Module

Bachelor’s students are required to take an additional four (4) English modules. These modules are equipped to help bridge the gap for the students to comprehend and express themselves in speaking and writing.

They are specifically designed to meet the English Language learning needs of students. Students will be given a grade only and will not be counted in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
