You gather plant and animal production skills on the modern campus educational and research farm and work placements. You learn profitable rural entrepreneurship in cooperation with nature.

Organic:

You analyze, develop and manage effective, safe and sustainable food production in a changing climate.

Smart:

You work with current uses and developments of diverse technologies and technological applications in agriculture. You collect data and use digital tools for finding solutions to rural issues and commissions.

What Will You Become?

You’ll be able to apply your knowledge to solving global key issues of food production as a farm manager, in developing rural processes or advisory roles.

You’ll be an effective entrepreneur or team worker in varied rural projects.

The Degree Program in Smart Organic Farming

The new degree program will begin in the autumn term 2021. The detailed curriculum will be published in autumn 2020.

Tuition Fees for January 2020 Intake and Thereafter

Non-EU/EEA students

  • Tuition fee for Bachelor’s degree studies: €9700/academic year

There will be no tuition fee for non-EU/EEA students:

  • Have an EU Blue Card granted in Finland
  • Have a continuous residence permit card in Finland, type A permit
  • Have a permanent residence permit card in Finland, Type P permit
  • Have an EU Family Member’s Residence Card in Finland
  • Have an EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long-term residence permit card in Finland (Type P-EU)

Exemption from Tuition Fees

Students are required to provide one of the following documents to be exempted from paying tuition fees:

  • EU Blue Card granted in Finland
  • Continuous residence permit card in Finland, Type A permit
  • EU Family Member’s Residence Card in Finland
  • Permanent residence permit card in Finland, Type P permit
  • EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long term residence permit card in Finland (Type P-EU)

Please notice: if you receive one of the documents mentioned above at any point of the admission process, please provide us the document immediately.

EU/EEA students

There will be no tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens. 

Students are required to provide one of the following documents to be exempted from paying tuition fees:

  • Passport or identity card to indicate the citizenship of EU/EEA/Switzerland (citizens of Finland are not required to provide proof of their citizenship as it will be verified from the population register)
