Make IT happen with a degree from UC

If you have a passion for information technology (IT) and are keen to enrich your employment prospects across a wide range of industries, this could be the pathway you’ve been looking for. An expansive course, covering both the technology and business sides of IT, you’ll explore the relevant IT theories and principles, including business, information systems, system analysis and modelling, system administration, security, networking, software development and artificial intelligence.

Available to study in two different locations – the University of Canberra’s Bruce campus and the Global Business College of Australia, Melbourne – you can choose the site which suits you best, and courses are delivered flexibly, with a mixture of business hours and weekday evening study options. The course is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and, upon graduation, you’ll have developed a thorough understanding of the cutting-edge IT industry, and will be ready to take your first steps towards a flexible and stimulating future career.

Study a Bachelor of Information Technology at UC and you will:

  • gain extensive experience in developing information technology to address the needs of modern organisations
  • develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the application of IT systems to their business environments, policies and management
  • explore the technical and human aspects of IT and its use
  • refine your teamwork, project management and communication skills.

Work Integrated Learning

UC works hard to foster close industry connections, with the course content reviewed annually by our Course Advisory Group, made up of a panel of industry experts, and collaborations with industry partners who can provide you with work placement positions and training opportunities. Previous students have undertaken internships with companies including Dialog Information Technology, Pursuit Technology, CycleLifeHQ, Birdsnest, Australian Sports Commission, Agsafe, Kiah Consulting, ALLBIDS, ThoughtPatterns Consulting, ESKAPEE, Carers ACT, the Department of Defence’s Chief Information Officer Group, Emanate Technology, and Clearz Defence.

In your final year, you’ll have the chance to complete a real-world industry capstone project in teams, producing and implementing an IT system for a local business, government or community organisation.
