Bachelor of Forestry and Natural Environment Management

The Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management was founded by Law 4589 GG 13A/29-1-2019 and joined the School of Plant Sciences of the Agricultural University of Athens. The Department has been operating since the academic year 2019-2020 and is based in Karpenisi. It is housed in the buildings of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment Management of the former TEI of Central Greece, which operated in Karpenisi from 1983 to 2019, when it was abolished by the above law.

The Department of Forestry and I.F.P. aims to provide top-level education covering the range of objects of Forestry and the Natural Environment, as well as research into the above subjects. A key element for the educational and research activity of the Department is the rich and varied natural environment of Evritania which is a natural workshop ideal for the practice of students in practice but also for research activity in forestry and natural environment. The Department is actively involved in European and National Research Programmes and contributes significantly to forest research in Greece. In addition, it develops collaborations with other Higher Education Institutions in Greece and abroad, as well as with institutions and companies related to the subject of the Department.
