Program Description

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television)

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television) is focused on practical screen production with an emphasis on screenwriting, direction, and editing. The program is characterized by regular opportunities to gain practical and collaborative skills through developing your own short productions, as well as crewing on other students’ projects.

Students also undertake Critical Studies subjects that introduce them to the practice of critical self-reflection in the context of wider contemporary art practices and have the opportunity choose electives from other specializations across the Victorian College of the Arts and the University of Melbourne.

Graduates are successful in local and international film festivals, winning numerous awards for their productions. Graduates, employed in the industry, may work initially in an assistant capacity as freelancers.

  • No part time option
