Bachelor of Design (BDES)
This course develops theoretical and practical skills in the design of the built environment as well as skills in computer-aided design and the preparation of design and working drawings. The focus is placed on the special requirements for architecture, interior design and building construction in hot-humid tropical environments. The skills gained in this course will equip graduates to fulfill roles in the architecture and interior design industries. Other opportunities include further study leading to a degree in architecture and registration as an architect.

The skills gained in this course will equip graduates to fulfill roles in the building industry as building designers or building technicians. Students have the opportunity to complete an additional year at another university to become an Interior Designer or to complete the Masters of Architecture at another university to be eligible for registration as an Architect.
