Program Description
Bachelor of Culture and Arts - Design
The degree comprises 240 credits and has a duration of 4 years.
The language of instruction is English.
The studies will begin in autumn 2012 with 16 student places available in Kouvola.
Focus on Global Roles in Design Industry
The degree programme in Design aims to develop professionalism in students’ approach to design. The aim is to address the new roles of design in a changing global world.
The programme focuses on essential design skills, sustainability, global design entrepreneurship and a holistic approach to visual concepts in order to ensure tools necessary for a designer to master the design process in various contexts. The programme also includes processing of complex innovative concepts and leading design-orientated projects.
The curriculum will include joint studies and projects with the International Business Degree Programme instructed on the Business Department of Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences thus providing the students with knowledge of several areas of economy and business.
The programme is aimed at students from different cultural backgrounds who wish to build an international career in design or design management.
Additional Information
The applicants who satisfactorily meet all admissions requirements will be invited to an entrance exam.
The entrance examination is on 17 April 2012 at Paraatikenttä 7, in Kasarminmäki, Kouvola, Finland.
