Here at U.C.O. we offer 13 undergraduate business degree programs all designed to prepare students to become the next generation of business leaders. So whether you wish to pursue a traditional program or one of our innovative offerings, we have the right program to fit your needs.
1. Accounting (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science in accounting is for students who want to work on the financial side of business, communicating financial information to internal and external stakeholders. The U.C.O. Accounting Program prepares graduates with an in-depth understanding of all areas of accounting. Such training best meets the needs of potential employers, particularly those in the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City and surrounding regions. In addition, many accounting graduates successfully pursue master’s degrees and certifications in various areas of accounting.
2. Economics (B.B.A.)
The economics program teaches students how the real world works; consumers, firms, markets, corporations and legislatures. The U.C.O. economics program develops the quantitative and analytical skills of our students through rigorous coursework, preparing students for careers in business, government and more.
3. Energy Economics (B.B.A.)
The energy economics program prepares students for a career in the energy industry. The program instills the core skills all economics majors experience with an added focus on the numerous issues encountered in the oil, natural gas and electric industries. Students also learn about regulatory issues and significant quantitative analysis related to the field. It incorporates material from other disciplines, such as accounting or finance, which also deliver essential skills relevant to the energy industry.
4. Finance (B.B.A.)
The finance program prepares students to work with investments, banking, corporate finance, insurance and real estate. The program emphasizes effective teaching and student involvement in the learning process.
5. Human Resource Management (B.B.A.)
The human resource management program curriculum is aligned with the standards of the largest professional body – the Society of Human Resource Management – in the world of work. Due to this, students selecting HRM as a major prepare to be functionally capable of taking on a generalist role, performing the core HR functions on the job, in any organization. HRM majors are well equipped to be contributors to the strategic health and viability of the organization – not simply the “employee relations” team.
6. Insurance and Risk Management (B.B.A.)
The insurance and risk management program merges specializations in finance, insurance and mathematics. Students learn the skills to work in the areas of actuarial sciences, risk management and insurance. Students are prepared to identify, analyze and manage risks that are inherent in the operation of profit and not-for-profit institutions.
7. Legal Studies (B.B.A.)
The legal studies program is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in law. Students majoring in legal studies will learn from dedicated faculty the laws of business organizations, commercial transactions and the legal issues within business.
8. Management (B.B.A.)
The management program is designed to prepare students for managerial positions in a number of fields with a broad skill set. Courses provide students with a core foundation to manage human, physical, and financial resources in a way that ethically and strategically moves an organization to accomplish its goals. Students select a focus in either entrepreneurship, project management or retail management. These areas were specifically chosen for individuals interested in small business or startup endeavors, working in the corporate environment or a focus in the retail industry.
9. Management Information Systems (B.B.A.)
The management information systems program prepares students for careers that apply computer knowledge and information technology to business. It focuses on providing the foundational technical and analytical skills needed to analyze an organization’s information system. The program is designed to combine essential ingredients in an interactive classroom environment where students learn and practice combining business knowledge, technical knowledge, communication and analytical skills.
10. Marketing (B.B.A.)
The marketing program exposes students to both academic and practical experiences in marketing to equip them with the intellectual and professional knowledge and skills necessary for marketing and business positions in the regional, national, and global marketplace. Students are prepared for visible marketing functions such as advertising, sales promotion, publicity, merchandising and transportation, as well as the less-visible functions like strategic planning, market research, new-product and new-market development, branding and forecasting.
11. Operations & Supply Chain Management (B.B.A.)
The operations and supply chain management program prepares students for a career that uses basic business education combined with information systems, critical thinking and structured solution skills. Students will learn skills needed for planning, organizing, and controlling the supply, operations, and distribution functions to deliver quality products or services at a reasonable cost.
12. PGA Golf Management (B.B.A.)
The PGA golf management program at U.C.O. is one of only 18 program accredited by the PGA (Professional Golf Association) of America. The golf management program provides students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, internship experiences, a student association and a player development program. The program goal is to produce graduates who meets the qualifications to be a PGA member and has a thorough background in managing golf facilities and related organizations, business and personnel management, tournament operations and player development, restaurant and hospitality management, horticulture and turfgrass aptitude, and recreation.
13. Professional Selling (B.B.A.)
The professional sales program prepares the student to enter the workforce with established sales skills and an understanding of the selling process. Courses provide students with the necessary interpersonal communication, professional selling, sales management and leadership skills to be successful in a sales career. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to compete to represent the university at national sales competitions. The U.C.O. professional sales program has been named one of the top universities for professional sales education by the Sales Education Foundation (S.E.F.).
A minor can be an outlet for your passion and present you as a well-rounded person in the eyes of employers by diversifying your education portfolio. Most minors can be completed within 18-22 credit hours in a specific subject area.

The University of Central Oklahoma is committed to providing affordable tuition to our students and their families from all over the world. U.C.O. recognizes and rewards student achievements by offering scholarships and awards on the basis of academic merit, talent in the fine arts or athletics. Other awards are based upon financial need. Students may qualify for both types of awards.
On-campus employment is also available to assist international students with their cost of living. International students may apply for on-campus jobs and work up to 20 hours per week after they arrive. On-campus employment is not guaranteed.

Please note that applying for most of these scholarships does not require any action from a student. Scholarship decision is made by an Admission's Advisor based off your academic and English proficiency scores. The exceptions are President's Leadership Council, Leaders of Tomorrow Council and Legacy Non-Resident Waiver scholarships.
- Leadership Scholarship - $400 (one-time award)
- Each Spring semester, several applicants will be awarded pending funding by the administration. The elected ISC President will be awarded $1000.00 each Spring and Fall semester.
- International Pageant Scholarship - Scholarship amounts are granted each Spring for the top three winners of male and female category.
- Non-Resident Tuition Waiver Scholarship - up to $1,000 (one-time award). Scholarship is awarded to the student based on their GPA and leadership involvement while studying at U.C.O..
