Introduction

The major in Sports and Fitness Programs Management offers an interdisciplinary course of study in Physical Education and Business to prepare students for professional positions in: the creation and administration of programs in community recreation community centres state and city parks and recreation resorts camps theme parks tourist attractions youth service organizations corporate fitness programs church programs Many of these positions will require teaching ability and management and leadership skills, and graduates may expect to lead and give instruction in games and sports in addition to administering programs and facilities. College graduates with skills to operate in recreational resources and facilities add to the region's physical and economic health. Students must earn a "C" grade in each course in the major field to graduate; the overall GPA must be at least 2.00. Students should become familiar with their individual programs' requirements and work with their advisors to ensure that all degree requirements will be met.
