Program Description

A dynamic, innovative and practical at the same time, the programme is implemented through Studio method – study courses are integrated into a single complex task: students learn architecture-related principles of drawing, composition, physics, materials strengths, etc. and apply directly in the project they are working on. Another exclusivity of the programme lays in the historical, cultural, theoretical and philosophical critical analysis of existing typologies, associated with the design of aesthetic prototyping which integrates constructions, mechanical, ecological and economic research.

This extended undergraduate programme leads to a Master’s degree (5 years programme).

Top reasons to study at KTU:

  1. The studio-based teaching method is applied in the development of conceptual and contextual buildings, urban and landscape projects, followed by application of BIM, CAD, Space Syntax, ArcGIS software.

Career opportunities

“I knew that I want to become an architect from a very early age as my father is also an artist/architect and drawing took a big part of my time. Before coming to Lithuania I was studying architecture in Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Coming to technical university I was expecting a more intense study of technical subjects. I ended up gaining great knowledge of urban planning. Studies in KTU also helped me to develop my ways of thinking and skills needed to continue working in the field of architecture and urban planning. I started doing my internship in JDWA – Johan de Wachter Architects office, while also working on my thesis. The office is practising architecture and urban planning while exploring collaborative design with future users, so I can easily adapt skills gained in KTU and learn new things every day.” – Anna Kinturashvili, Johan de Wachter Architects office, Architect.

“I have represented the thesis defence commission of Architecture Bachelor degree studies for five years, therefore I have a great opportunity to observe the level of students’ preparation. Each year this level increases with improvements in the study programme. Quite a few graduates worked at our office. We were very satisfied with their knowledge, approach to profession and creativity. I am sure we will not be disappointed in the future.” – Manager of Architectural Bureau “Vilnius ir Partneriai”, Vilius Adomavičius.
