Program Description

This course has been developed to meet the growing demand for business professionals with qualifications in the areas of accounting and sustainable business. It is ideal for those wishing to combine a mainstream accounting course with a sustainability and environmental management focus.

Melbourne Polytechnic's Bachelor of Accounting has been developed in consultation with industry, government, accounting professional bodies and universities to meet the growing demand for business professionals qualified in the areas of accounting and sustainable business.

The course includes fundamental Accounting subjects covering general accounting, corporate accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation and financial management whilst at the same time providing a focus on environmental sustainability through subjects such as Introduction to Sustainability Studies, Environmental Law, and Environmental Economics and Policy.

Specialist topics include:

The Bachelor of Accounting is a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) accredited degree.

Students who successfully complete an Associate Degree in Accounting are eligible to be accepted directly into the Bachelor of Accounting.

Professional Membership: Opportunities exist for graduates to apply for membership with CPA Australia, ICA, and IPA. Please contact the CPA, ICA, and IPA for further information on membership requirements.

International Students Entrance Requirements
Academic: Australian Year 12 equivalency or higher. English Language: Academic IELTS 6.0 overall or recognized equivalency.
