Web & Interaction Design
The three-year course in Interaction Design form multimedia designers in the following areas:
- Interaction design,
- web design,
- interface design,
- app development,
- interactive systems using Arduino and Touch Designer,
- video editing.
The course is unique in Italy, is active since 1991 and is continuously updated. The course is recognized by MIUR as an Academic Diploma Level I.
Who it is aimed at
This university-level course is aimed at school leavers, from all types of secondary schools, aspiring multimedia designers who want to develop their capacity for expression based on structured knowledge and shared languages, skills that are essential for working with professionalism in a field as complex as that of multimedia design and interactivity. The course may also be useful for the specialization and updating of professionals who already work in the field of communications.
The objective pursued in the Web & Interaction course is that of training designers capable of relating in a critical and aware manner to the complex field of multimedia design, but also specializing and updating the training of those already working in the communications field.

The ongoing processes of modernization in multimedia communications, from a perspective of systematic interaction between different languages and new technologies, have expanded to new areas the employment opportunities for operators who are able to combine the mastery of instruments and applications with the qualities of creativity and an efficacious methodological approach to the project. In this highly dynamic and continuously updated context, the figure of the Interaction Designer is of crucial importance wherever the complex area of interactive design is dealt with.
An extremely versatile professional, they are able to adapt their activity according to different operational needs and can exercise it as: web designer and web developer, wherever design and content development, web applications and services are required; digital & interaction designer, ranging from the production of digital and interactive content to the design of applications for mobile devices; communication & media designers, including activities ranging from multimedia communication to web marketing.
The various forms of professional activity can take place – as a consultant, collaborator or freelancer – with events and communication, advertising and marketing agencies, businesses, companies and professional studios, public and private bodies, museums, foundations and galleries, operating both nationally and internationally.

The teaching course is divided into lectures, design laboratories, and technical-applicative teaching. Lessons take place in classrooms with audiovisual supports, drawing tables and dedicated computers, equipped with specialist software. Each teaching area, through laboratory activities, provides in the classroom the various phases of work in which the members of a design team would normally be involved, providing a direct application of the theoretical and technical contributions of the different areas of teaching.
A series of intense specialist workshops is foreseen on themes that refer to the specific fields of professional activity, organically integrated with the interdisciplinary project work, which involve the students in complex projects that last the length of a teaching cycle. Furthermore, the teaching activity includes study trips and various external activities and educational visits.
