Introduction
A Program for Future Speech-Language Pathologists
If you’re ready to make a difference in the lives of others through the study of speech development and the treatment of communication disorders, Nova Southeastern University’s Speech-Language Pathology Dual Admission program could help you reach your goals.
NSU’s Speech-Language pathology program will give you the skills to become a competent, compassionate professional. You’ll learn how to help children master fluency, support stroke victims’ recovery, and effectively work with individuals who struggle with social communication or speech disorders.
The Dual Admission program saves your seat in NSU’s competitive Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program while you earn your bachelor’s degree.
From day one, you’ll work with top-trained professionals, who will guide you through research-based coursework and clinical hands-on experiences, ensuring that you’re prepared not just for your licensing exams but also for improving your patients’ lives. And with our on-campus clinic, access to the best speech-language facilities will be right on your doorstep.
Program overview
A dual admission program in speech-language pathology is offered to qualified freshmen. This program leads to a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology (M.S.).
Students admitted to the program must major in Speech-Language and Communication Disorders (SLCD). Upon successful completion of the master’s application process, students will be admitted to the M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology if requirements are met.
This program provides the required coursework and clinical experiences necessary to obtain Florida licensure. In addition, the student will be prepared to begin their clinical fellowship experience to earn the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
