The Department of Psychology is dedicated to advanced research and education in psychological science. Its broad curriculum is characterized by an emphasis on cognition and neuroscience as well as investigation. Research laboratories in the Department are developing rapidly, with on-site access to a magnetic resonance imaging scanner for brain imaging, a state-of-the-art visual perception laboratory, and an animal laboratory for neurobiological studies. The Department offers a wide range of courses, including many in applied areas such as clinical psychology, and requires a senior thesis for graduation.
