Degree acquired: Social Science Bachelor's degree in Psychology.

The length of the studies:

  • Full-time studies: 3 years or 6 semesters (September - July)
  • Part-time studies: 3 years and 6 months or 7 semesters (September - July, 7th semester until February)

Study process: visiting the on-site lectures, independent studies in the library and use RPIVA the proposed databases and Moodle environment (e-learning).

Requirements beginning study programme: finished secondary school (gymnasium) education or higher or professional education. Entrance exams - none.

Acquired education gives the right to work in research, during the study process self-improvement takes place, the skills to work with people are improved, awareness about thinking, age group characteristics, and communication between different types of people are raised. Option to continue studies on a master level.

Requirements for acquiring the degree:

  • successful fulfillment of the study plan
  • development and defense of the bachelor paper.

The results of the studies:

Knowledge gained in all classical psychology subdivisions - developmental psychology, family psychology, social psychology, pedagogical psychology, clinical psychology, and psychiatry, psychotherapy, psycho-diagnostics, as well as subjects taught only in RPIVA - ethnopsychology, political psychology, psychology of creativity, positive psychology etc.

Skill to carry out scientific and applied research in psychology, using classical psychology and the latest research results, as well as the use RPIVA scientific laboratory equipment are acquired skills to plan the design of the study, analyze the data electronically using the methods of mathematical statistics.

Programme provides comfortable and equipped with special equipment laboratories for conducting individual research on cognitive and emotional processes and states of the psyche, foreign guest-lecturers, Erasmus student exchange programme with other EU member states, opportunity to use world's best databases free of charge (Apa-PsychNet, EBSCO, SAGE), welcoming innovative thinking faculty and staff.

Possibility to take part in RPIVA organized international conferences, thus improving the research experience, developing scientific thinking, expanding the vision of the world and getting new ideas.

Students can perfect their creative talent singing in RPIVA women choir Balta, playing in the Gaudeamus chamber orchestra, or the Big Band or dance in dance ensemble Pērle
