The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen

This program aims to educate students with an interdisciplinary knowledge and specialized skills. Subjects to be studied include: Solar energy conversion, Production and storage of hydrogen and fuel cell, Energy storage (battery, super-capacitor), New energy power generation (thermal energy), Smart grid, and Energy efficiency and energy saving.

Students will receive rigorous training not only in traditional disciplines (such as Chemistry, Physics, and Materials Science, etc.), but also in emerging fields (including Photochemistry, Electrochemistry, and Bio-molecular Engineering). Students may participate in overseas exchanges program for expanding their global vision and cultivating themselves to be self-motivated and independent learners. The School will collaborate with new energy companies in the Pearl River Delta, which may allow students to learn industry trends and to join industrial internships.

Graduates of this bachelor program are well qualified to work in the new energy industry, including photovoltaic cell production, lithium battery, and other related industries or in institutes pursuing new energy research and development. They will also find career opportunities in industries engaging in energy storage and conversion devices and power utilities, such as solar panel installation, solar farm operation, and battery driven car production.

Entry Scholarships for 4 years All international applicants will automatically be considered for one of the admission scholarships along with admission decisions.

Consideration will be based on applicants’ English level, high school academic performance and an interview. Candidates may be asked to submit further supporting materials. The scholarship will be provided for 4 years, as long as entry scholarship owners can keep their GPA above 3.0.

Academic Performance Scholarship In order to encourage the pursuit of better academic performance, the university provides high-value Academic Performance Scholarships.

Shenzhen Universiade International Scholarship
The Shenzhen Universiade International Scholarship Foundation was established by Shenzhen with the purpose of promoting Universiade spirits and boosting cultural and educational exchange of international youth.

The foundation aims to fund international students receiving a full-time academic education bachelor degree or above in Shenzhen. The scholarship ranges from 20,000 RMB to 40,000 RMB. Application of the scholarship is announced around April each year.

English Language Mentor Bursary
CUHK Shenzhen offers English teaching opportunity in the campus for international students from English speaking countries. It offers them free tuition and free accommodation for students’ 4-year undergraduate studies as long as they serve as English Language Mentor at Centre for Self-access Language Learning for several hours per week. Only 10 spaces available.
