Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

General

Program Description

In cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum, GERMANY, and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, GERMANY.

“Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them.”

James A. Michener, US American author

Our daily life is in nearly every aspect influenced by mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineers contribute to the design and creation of all machines and technical devices that are currently used by mankind. Mass production of affordable and high-quality goods is only possible through the application of mechanical engineering.

Being one of the oldest and broadest disciplines in engineering, mechanical engineering is a continuously evolving field that absorbs the outcomes of research in natural sciences and uses them for the improvement of existing products and the creation of new products. Mechanical engineers therefore need in-depth knowledge of physics, mathematics and materials. As information technology is nowadays to a large extent used in design, testing and production, mechanical engineers must be proficient with computers. And they must understand economics and ecology for sustainable design and production.

The VGU Bachelor Program Mechanical Engineering provides students with all the necessary state of the art skills and knowledge in the two majors “Engineering Design and Automation” and “Energy and Process Engineering”. Each of these majors opens many excellent job perspectives for the graduates in national and international companies.

The Bachelor “Mechanical Engineering” is a six semester’s study combining basic engineering sciences with fundamental natural sciences and mathematics. Students can deepen their expertise in one of the two majors “Engineering Design and Automation” or “Energy and Process Engineering. The program provides students with expert skills and knowledge needed for a career in industry as well as a broad and solid academic foundation for the continuation of the study in a master’s program.

THE TEACHING STAFF

The majority of modules will be taught by professors of the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB), GERMANY, and the Otto-von Guericke University, Magdeburg, GERMANY, or from other renowned universities in Germany. Additionally, to ensure the teaching quality and support, students are also attended by VGU’s experienced Vietnamese tutors. Experienced Vietnamese lecturers who graduated abroad will also be appointed for fundamental subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

English language lessons are completely taught by native English teachers.
