Charles Caleb Colton once said, “The study of mathematics, like the Nile, begins in minuteness but ends in magnificence.” Mathematics has lead to great things worldwide from the construction of the Sphinx in Egypt to doctors prescribing the correct dosage of medication.
The mathematics program provides students with a strong foundation for a variety of careers in business, technology, science and more. Students will graduate prepared to move on to graduate study as well for careers in private or government sectors among many.
Students within this major are able to choose a concentration in secondary education to pursue teaching careers in the middle school and high school levels.
Students studying mathematics have the opportunity to have a concentration in Business, Accounting, Science or Education. Students will have the option of beginning the track at an introductory level or accelerated. The major allows students to focus on technical materials, reasoning, and communication, creating well-rounded graduates with transferable skills.
