Are you creative, enterprising and a born organizer? Are you interested in a management position in the sport, tourism, event or art sector? If so then the Leisure and Events Management course could be perfect for you.
This international Bachelor Programme provides you with an in-depth insight into the leisure and events industry and offers you the opportunity to specialize in a sector of your choice. In the first year, you will be introduced to the different concepts of the leisure and event industry and set up your own business as part of the “Young Entrepreneurship” project. Throughout the study, there is a strong focus on sustainable business and intercultural cooperation which is taught by using Design-Based Education. You also follow subjects such as business economics, marketing, lifestyle, and trends. The second-year evolves around value creation and developing lasting leisure experiences for individuals, groups and whole communities. Subjects that you will cover during this year are amongst others Human Resource Management, Leisure Operations, and Intercultural Sensibility. In the third year, you will choose your specialization which you can follow in the Netherlands or abroad and dive into strategic management. In the fourth and final year, you will follow an internship in the sector you have specialized yourself in and round it off with your Bachelor Thesis.

Alumni have gone on to work in many different areas such as theme parks, museums , nd events. Some students even go on to enroll in the Master programme in International Leisure and Tourism Studies which is also offered by NHL Stenden University.

All non-EER applicants are required to submit an English proficiency test with their application. Exceptions are made for students, who have had their preparatory education in a country where English is the official working and educational language. The language requirements for EER students are the same as for Dutch students. If your diploma is mentioned in this list the additional English language test is not required.
NHL Stenden accepts three kinds of official language tests: IELTS, TOEFL and the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.
- Academic IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 for each skill).
- TOEFL 550 (paper based), 213 (computer-based) and 80 (internet based). Original test results must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service to NHL Stenden. The TOEFL institution code for NHL Stenden is 9215.
- Cambridge ESOL score CAE-C.
