Program Description

Prepare yourself for a life full of international adventure

Thomas More’s International Communication and Media program dives deep into subjects like intercultural communication, social psychology, international marketing, international media, globalization, and innovation. Our Expert Classes bring the future of communication technology right to the classroom, immersing you in the exciting world of brand management and media.

Our students get to know the practical side of the field, thanks to hands-on courses covering graphic design, video editing and the production of web stories. All the latest technology is at your disposal, so what are you waiting for? Study, experiment and tell your story.

In this program, you will learn to navigate the field of international communication and media with confidence. You will study topics such as intercultural communication, psychology, globalization, international marketing, international media, innovations & communication, among others. During Expert Classes you will be introduced to the future of communication technology and become immersed in the world of brands and media. We value the practical component of the field too, so graphic design, video editing, and producing web stories are part of the curriculum.

International advantage

International Communication and Media gives you the advantage of studying in an international environment. This program is three years long and full of international and intercultural experiences. In the first year, you will work in international teams; in the second year you will participate in the Erasmus exchange program; in your third year, you will complete a rewarding internship abroad. All three phases prepare you for a successful international career.

You will be studying with people from all over the world, giving you the opportunity to build an international network. For the rest of your life, you will be visiting friends in every corner of the globe.

Are you interested in Communication and Media but unsure if you can complete the course in English? No worries, we also have a Dutch taught program. You can make the switch from English to Dutch at any time.

Internship

Practice makes perfect! You complete an internship abroad in an organization or agency; international students can do their internship in an international organization located in Belgium.

Most internships run between February and June. And then there’s Summer School. Find that extra sweat during summer and see your experience grow.

Personal coaching

Personal coaching is important. Lieven, our student coach, is ready to take all of your questions. As well for study advice, your personal study program, as personal issues, Lieven will take his time to help you.

Go international

First phase

Participate in international conferences, fairs and communication projects.

Second phase

You study for one semester at one of our European partner colleges throughout the exchange program.

Third phase

You complete an internship abroad. Choose your continent yourself: Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Oceania. In Belgium, there are also many opportunities for international companies and agencies.

Short program

Do you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, communication or journalism? Take our one-year program in International Communication and Media and graduate as a full-blown international communication expert.

  3. If approved, you will receive a letter of admission.
  4. Register online.

Admission requirements
  • Diploma requirements:
    if you’re qualified to start an equivalent program in higher education in the country where you completed your secondary education, then you’re qualified for admission to Thomas More. Additional requirements may be set for candidates with a diploma obtained in a non-EEA member state.
  • Language requirements:
    you need to be reasonably proficient at speaking and writing English (level B2, European Framework).
  • Additional requirements for abridged programs and postgraduates:
    Those applying to our abridged programs and postgraduates will have some extra requirements to meet in addition to the standard diploma and language requirements. Please check the program’s webpage to find detailed information about the requirements as well as the contact details of the program manager. Immigration and visas in Belgium

  • Students coming from the European Economic Area, Monaco or Switzerland can enroll in an undergraduate degree program in Belgium without a student visa.
  • All other students need to apply for a visa before coming to Belgium. You can apply at the Belgian Consulate or Embassy in your country or in the country where you legally reside.
