Student Opportunities

Research

In addition to senior seminars, which typically involve independent research under the tutelage of a professor, the department is involved in the Summer Fellows program. Recent examples of summer fellows projects include recalculating the Human Development Index to identify where education ranks as a priority for different societies and using sophisticated techniques such as Data Envelopment Analysis to investigate the formation of strategic groups in Big Ten football. Employment

Each professor usually has a student assistant to help with preparing for and operating classes as well as research. In addition, many of the professors in Economics, Accounting, and Business are involved in the First-Year Program as seminar mentors, each with a student mentor earning internship credit.

Study Abroad

Muskingum University students have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a foreign university through the Muskingum or East Central Colleges (ECC) Consortium Student Exchange Programs. Currently, formal student exchange agreements exist with 16 universities in 12 different countries. In most cases, there is no extra fee for participation in these exchange programs.
