Over 4000 graduates working in varied activity sectors, in Portugal and abroad, are the irrefutable evidence of the high quality and innovation that characterizes Nova SBE’s undergraduate program in Economics, which was created in 1978.
The undergraduate program in Economics stands on a selection of core courses that contribute to the development of a solid training in economics, management and quantitative methods. Students acquire a balanced mix of technical and scientific knowledge besides receiving a general education in related areas, such as law and social sciences, among others.
The undergraduate first-degree programs in Economics are structured in semesters. For each individual course attended and successfully completed students are awarded a number of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
In order to complete the undergraduate in Economics, it is mandatory to enroll in at least six academic semesters and successfully achieve between 180 and 195 ECTS credits.
During the first year, you can choose to take classes in English or in Portuguese. The courses in the first year are taught in Portuguese and in English (there are separate classes for each language track). English will be the language of instruction in the majority of the second and third year's courses.
In addition to a solid academic training NOVA privileges the development of students as individuals and citizens. This holistic approach involves:
- International exposure
- Improving the English language
- Social Responsibility
- Academic and Social Integration
- Personal and Professional Development
It is now possible for non-EU students to apply directly to Nova School of Business and Economics for the bachelors of Economics or Management.
Nova School of Business and Economics now allows you to complete your Bachelor's program in the English language, that is, you can choose whether to follow the first year in Portuguese or in English, while the second and third years are entirely taught in English.
This follows a “soft launch” of the program in 2015 that attracted applications from Brazil, the United States, Nepal, China, Nigeria, Turkey, Egypt, and Mozambique, among other countries.
This school offers programs in:
- Portuguese (Portugal)
