The degree in Ecology and Environment provides a solid science-based training, designed to understand the functioning of ecosystems, with a view to improving their state of integrity and environmental quality. It provides an interdisciplinary training that integrates: environmental chemistry; Ecological modeling; Structure and functioning of ecosystems; Fauna and flora; Spatial analysis; Management, conservation, and restoration of ecological systems; Characterization, evaluation, monitoring and improvement of ecological quality; Climate change and the social dimensions of environmental issues, among others.
The University of Évora has a strong faculty in various fields of ecology, environmental sciences, land management, and environmental management and restoration, with many years of experience and a long tradition in teaching and research in the fields of ecology and the environment, where the University of Évora is particularly well ranked in international rankings.
This course involves teachers with different backgrounds, thus providing a comprehensive approach to the environment, ranging from the sciences of nature to the humanities and social sciences.
