With a major in digital media and journalism at Saint Mary’s, students will explore how digital content is created and used in strategic communication efforts.
This program also gives students a broad view of digital communication, including multimedia production, graphic design, social media, and online journalism. Degree candidates are given internship opportunities, offering them real-world experience and a direct connection to professionals in the field.

Digital Media and Journalism Minor
The digital media and journalism minor is an exciting mix of courses in web design, graphic design, news writing, social media, multimedia production, and more. Students will get a broad view of how digital content is created and used in strategic communication efforts. Expectations for communication professionals are increasing and this new curriculum not only reflects these changes but also makes graduates more desirable in the job market and better prepared for career advancement.

Deposit
New students who have been admitted are asked to confirm their attendance by sending a $300 non-refundable deposit to the university. Returning students must pay a $250 housing deposit prior to housing registration. This deposit is credited to the student's account.
Fall Application Timelines
Rolling Admission
International students are encouraged to apply by July 1st of each calendar year for the Fall semester. We offer plenty of scholarships and financial awards available for international first-time freshmen and transfer students at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
Students who submit and complete their admission file by July 1st will be reviewed and receive an admission decision 1-2 weeks after submitting their admission file.
