The bachelor programme in Branding and Marketing Management within Fashion and Furniture is a 3½-year full-time programme taught in English structured as an AP degree and a BA top-up.
You will learn about the changing nature of the market, and how to give a brand a commercial dimension and ensure that the target group cannot avoid hearing about it. You learn to employ different marketing channels – from homepages to outdoor commercials – and how the respective channels help the brand achieve the right position in the market.
The teaching includes a combination of cases and true-to-life issues related to fashion and lifestyle companies.
You will also acquire competencies in order to supervise and develop brands in an independent manner. Working out suggested solutions and implementing them in practice, both visually and communicatively, will also be one of your major qualifications. You will be able to establish the right position for the brand and see to it that new concepts fall in line with the values of the brand.
The joint projects of the course programme enhance your competences regarding interdisciplinary collaborations, and the compulsory placement period provides you with the chance to expand your network and CV.
The programme takes place at Campus Herning.
Content and Structure
The programme is organized so that you first participate in joint projects for all BA students and then put a profound focus on your chosen speciality. The scope of the joint projects is to give you a full insight into other areas of the design industry and to help you develop your ability to co-operate.
Elective and general subjects of the speciality should strengthen your qualifications within the area of Branding and Marketing Management. The objective is to help you develop your personal image. Through the elective subjects, we offer compulsory study trips and the chance to improve your skills in your chosen subject.
The placement period on the 3rd and 6th semester is a compulsory part of the programme, where you get a chance to test your skills in actual practice.
Every semester is concluded with an oral or written examination and you finish your degree with a bachelor assignment.
With a BA featuring Branding and Marketing Management, you have the skills to work with branding and marketing within the fashion and lifestyle sector.
You know how to work out solutions and implement them in practice both visually and communicatively.
Your job is to find the right position in the market for the brand and see to it that new concepts fall in line with the values of the brand. It is your job to ensure that the brand has a commercial dimension. Your job is also to employ various marketing channels – from homepages to outdoor commercials – and how the respective channels help the brand to achieve the right position in the market.
The theoretical knowledge which you acquire during your studies will be of advantage when it comes to managing projects in a branding and marketing department.
VIA University College will accept applications from international students having a:
- General upper secondary education;
- International or European Baccalaureate;
- A high school diploma in the USA/Canada + at least one year at a university/college;
- At least two years of relevant studies from universities in Africa, India, Pakistan and countries with a similar educational system;
- Students who have completed the first year of a bachelor's degree can also apply but will need individual assessment, depending on country of origin.
All students are required to have obtained mathematics/economics corresponding to a Danish level C - and English corresponding to a Danish level B.
