The study program is based on a good understanding of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Developing your professional skills
The International Business program has the potential to challenge your way of thinking. At SeAMK, you will have the opportunity to share and learn with other students from different countries and guest lecturers from our partner universities, creating an international environment. This allows you to develop an important set of skills, giving you an advantage in the international business setting.
As a part of your professional development, language skills are highly important when doing business in an international environment. All of the courses at the IB program are taught in English. This allows our students to increment their knowledge and usage of the English language at a business and academic level. In addition, you can choose other languages to study. For instance, all foreign students will take courses in the Finnish language.
Structure of studies
In the first year, you will work in a virtual enterprise, with a multicultural group of students. The students plan, run, and develop a virtual business and operate in a network of businesses. With this method, you will be learning by doing.
In the second and third year of studies, you will deepen your knowledge and skills in international business operations and management. Exchange students and visiting lecturers from partner universities contribute to your learning experience.
You can focus on:
Doing business in different target areas
Project work in multidisciplinary student groups (SeAMKPro)
As an essential part of your studies is the exchange semester abroad in one of the SeAMK’s many partner universities. Doing practical training reinforces the theoretical knowledge you have learned. You can also study for a double degree in one of our several double degree partner institutions in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, or China.
In the last semester, you will finalize your bachelor’s thesis. The thesis is usually commissioned by a company or organization, often the one in which the practical training took place. The results of the thesis will be presented at the thesis seminar.
