The study of computer science prepares one as a professional, capable of applying the principles of computing, latest technological advancements, and strong analytical & critical thinking skills to solve real-time problems.
This degree program aims to produce alumni that within three to five years after graduation are:
Valued as individual contributors in a software-oriented organization, to be programmers and designers in an entrepreneurial pursuit, to lead small projects and generally begin preparation for a management career, or to succeed in rigorous postgraduate programs.
Focus their careers on pure computer science technology or to bring computer science expertise to a companion discipline.
Think critically and creatively, communicate clearly, work effectively with others, and develop leadership skills.

Entry Requirements
Malaysian Students:
Pass Matriculation under the Ministry of Education with at least a CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent; OR
Pass Foundation Studies and credit in Mathematics or equivalent; OR
Possess a Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or any other qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government or approved by the University Senate. Candidates with CGPA below 2.50 but above 2.00 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process; OR Any other Diploma with a minimum of CGPA of 2.50 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR
Pass Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR
Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with minimum of grade B in at least five (5) subjects including Mathematics; OR
Fulfill other entry requirements that are recognized by the University Senate; AND
Must sit for IUMW English Placement Test
International Students:
A-Level with 2 principal passes and credit in Mathematics at O-level or equivalent, recognized by the Malaysian Government or fulfill any other entry requirements that are recognized by the University Senate; AND
Pass IELTS with minimum Band 5, or TOEFL with a minimum score of 500, or IUMW Intensive English Programme; AND
Must sit for IUMW English Placement Test
