BTech Hons in Fine Art

Having obtained this qualification, students will be able to apply critical competencies and skills in the production of artworks, visual research and the completion of workplace experience, required for a professional career in the visual-cultural industries.

Admission requirements

A National Diploma: Fine Art or an equivalent qualification at an equivalent standard, as determined by a Status Committee.

Selection criteria

An average mark of 60% for all third-year modules is recommended. Applicants must also submit written and practical work, as determined by a Selection Committee.

Curriculum

MODULE

  • Art Theory 4
  • Studio Practice 4

Practical work is completed under supervision.
Art Theory 4 course work is completed by participation in seminars and the presentation of papers, with integrated assessment.
Summative assessment is conducted by a departmental Assessment Committee and an external moderator.

Programme structure

  1. Nature of programme: One year programme.
  2. The programme is offered both full-time and part-time.
  3. Minimum duration: One year full-time and two years part-time.
  4. Number of modules per year: 2 year-modules.
