Students looking to get their first university degree may enroll in a Bachelor of Science program. This undergraduate award provides a deeper understanding of a specific topic. The duration of a BSc program can vary from three to five years on average.

What is a BSc in Networks? It is an undergraduate program designed to focus on the networking side of computer science. Students may be expected to participate in basic computer science courses while also gaining experience in their focus area of networks. The required courses for the program can vary greatly from one school to the next, but may be similar to foundation of computing, computer networks and communications, cognitive neural networks, and computer security and cryptography. Professors may use a combination of lab work, lectures and discussions to help scholars learn.

Participants gain a number of intellectual skills, such as computational thinking and information management, that can help them in an IT industry or transfer into other industries. They also gain a better understanding of basic computer network concepts, which could make them more competitive applicants during the job search.

The cost of a BSc in Networks is not set in stone. In fact, the location of a university, duration of a program and mode of a class may play a role in how much applicants have to pay.

The skills and knowledge gained through this type of program can prepare graduates for a variety of careers in communication networks and other IT fields. Some students have gone on to become security engineers, professors, forensic practitioners, ethical hackers, security consultants, IT support specialist and systems engineer.
