A Bachelor of Science is an undergraduate degree that generally takes three to five years to complete. The BSc prepares students for entry-level work in their field of study, which may or may not have a strong leaning toward science.

What is a BSc in Hospitality? The hospitality industry focuses on improving customer experiences through exemplary and efficient service. The requirements of the bachelor's degree are often a combination of coursework and hands-on experience so that students can learn relevant concepts and apply them to real-life situations. Scholars take courses in management, marketing, economics, ethics, organizational behavior and accounting. The entire program is designed to prepare students to manage businesses that revolve around making customers happy.

The organizational and diplomacy skills learned while studying hospitality can help students set and achieve goals as well as win people over while doing so. Learning how to wrangle the budget of a company successfully can make graduates more employable.

The cost of a BSc in Hospitality depends on many factors. The length of the program chosen, the country the program takes place in and the institution that houses the degree program all play a role in its cost. Students must take these factors into consideration when choosing a school to attend.

A bachelor's degree in hospitality prepares graduates for many types of management opportunities. Hotel and resort managers often use the skills learned in hospitality courses to run their businesses. Graduates may decide to enter the restaurant industry, working as managers or head chefs. If they enjoy food service but want a slightly less-structured environment, they can become catering managers. Event planners are often hospitality graduates, employing skills they learned during their studies to make events go off without a hitch.

While practical experience is important, many universities and colleges offer online degree programs in hospitality. You can learn from the comfort and convenience of your home at your own pace. Building the foundation for a life-long career in management is both a science and an art. Successful travel industry managers have a number of vital and, sometimes divergent, duties, and responsibilities. Each element of the TIM curriculum provides an essential building block for a complete education that is relevant not only to the travel industry but to virtually any service-related enterprise or occupation. The curriculum focuses on developing problem-solving and decision-making techniques and critical-thinking skills which are essential skills for successful managers and leaders in any industry. The hospitality management emphasis is intended to provide students with the ability to apply problem-solving, decision-making techniques, and critical-thinking skills to meet current and future industry challenges. Students will study the relationship of the various constituencies (customer, owner, staff) in the management and operation of hospitality businesses, including lodging and foodservice establishments, as well as event management enterprises. -
