The Fashion: Textiles and Clothing in Business program at UCM prepares students for a business-related career in the fashion/textile industry.

Why choose Fashion at UCM? UCM's Fashion and Apparel Merchandising program teaches students a unique combination of technology and business/marketing and they apply to the fashion industry. This program is nationally accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Students use the same resources as industry professionals including the WGSN trend forecasting database, computer software, and social media tools. The fashion program operates its own online business and has 2 custom textile designs created by students that are sold on products such as tee's, ties, and scarves. See more at our fashion website. Each year, fashion students get the opportunity to design outfits made completely out of recycled materials and show them off in the annual Haute Trash Fashion Show; students also plan and produce this campus-wide fashion show. Other fashion shows are done throughout the year as well. Every February, students have the opportunity to take a trip to Las Vegas to go to the MAGIC tradeshow, which is the largest global marketplaces for apparel, footwear, and accessories for buyers and brands. A variety of international and domestic study tours are offered, all of which are based on student interests. UCM's students have visited Paris, Italy, London, Spain, New York and Dallas.
