BS in Engineering

Description

Program Contact: Ronald Mattis From your cell phone to your bowl of cereal, almost everything you touch has an engineer behind it. Would you like to be one of those engineers? Would you like to touch the world? Our engineering major will help you get there. In our program, you'll learn all kinds of interesting concepts. And, you'll get to do some pretty neat things. You'll build a contraption around an egg - yes, an egg. Then you'll drop it off the roof of Fisher Hall. The idea, of course, is to build the right contraption to keep the egg from breaking. You'll start your bachelor of science degree in engineering on our campus, successfully completing the prerequisites to the junior year, and completing the degree at the Swanson School of Engineering at the Pittsburgh campus. As an entering freshman, you must meet one of the following requirements to be admitted directly to the engineering program at Pitt-Bradford. 1. SAT Math score of 500 (old test) or 520 (new test) or better, or 2. SAT Math score of 450 (old test) or 490 (new test) better and high school GPA of 3.25 or better. Completing your bachelor's degree You will have to complete 60-72 credits at Pitt-Bradford, have a grade point average of at least 3.0 in your first-year engineering courses, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 before you will be considered for admission to the baccalaureate degree program at... Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering

Trine University
Campus September 2017 USA Angola

Biomedical engineering combines knowledge from all the basic science disciplines: mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology as well as engineering sciences. [+]

Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering Biomedical engineering combines knowledge from all the basic science disciplines: mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology as well as engineering sciences. Due to this inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary nature of the subject, and the rapidly advancing knowledge in the field of medicine, the curriculum for a biomedical engineer must also be adaptive and keep up with current advancements. To incorporate these aspects into a biomedical program, the coursework at Trine is not only grounded in the traditional sciences but is also sufficiently flexible to accommodate both individual student interests and the changing landscape of the field. The Experience The program in the Allen School of Engineering & Technology is built on over a century of engineering excellence. It integrates engineering with health sciences. In addition to the availability of state-of-the-art engineering laboratories, you will have access to various labs in the School of Health Sciences and the Jannen School of Arts and Sciences. The program was established to give students a broad background, beyond a single engineering discipline, and to more fully include basic and health care sciences, while building upon our "hands-on" design approach to biomedical engineering. Besides acquiring a solid engineering background, you will be trained to tackle the multidisciplinary problems facing biomedical engineers. Depending on your interest, you elect to focus on one or more of three concentration areas: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The Results The program provides a foundation for students to enter industry, or to pursue graduate studies. Students are... [-]

Best Part time BSc Degrees in Engineering Studies 2017/2018. Mechanical Engineering became a degree offering in Fall 2007. When designing this degree program our faculty wanted to ensure that we created a Mechanical Engineering degree that embraced Embry-Riddle’s mission and recognized expertise in aerospace. Aerospace platforms, whether atmosphere or space based, require skills from a team of engineers that include Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, and, of course, Mechanical Engineering. Given this, our ME degree stays within that focus of the aerospace platform with the three primary options of robotics, propulsion and energy. The freshman year in Mechanical Engineering is common to the Aerospace Engineering degree program. The second year in Mechanical Engineering builds fundamental skills in math and physics while introducing students to Engineering Mechanics and the Thermal Sciences. During the second semester of their sophomore year, Mechanical Engineering students in Embry-Riddle’s program in Prescott will start taking courses aligned within the focus areas of robotics, propulsion or energy. The robotics option emphasizes the design and analysis of autonomous vehicles that include uninhabited aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous space vehicles, and planetary rovers. The propulsion option emphasizes the thermal sciences and design and analysis of turbomachinery. Jet aircraft engines are the primary area of depth but piston and rocket propulsion are also studied. The energy option emphasizes the design of renewable energy systems. During the senior year, students will gain additional depth in their options and take capstone courses in designing an aerospace platform. Aerospace platforms are designed in teams and with... [-]

Upon completion of studies at one of the schools of engineering, you receive a liberal arts and sciences degree from Geneseo and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the cooperating institution. Advantages of the Cooperative Approach The cooperative approach provides several distinct advantages over direct entry into a school of engineering: Geneseo’s location and collaborative learning community provides students with guidance and support to help ease the transition into a rigorous university environment; You will have the opportunity to explore a number of liberal arts and science programs while maintaining the option to continue your studies in the engineering field. You may delay the decision to pursue engineering for a period of three full years. The decision to complete a four-year degree in liberal arts and sciences or to continue with engineering is made during the junior year; The cooperative engineering program emphasizes a broader range of courses and ideas than traditional engineering and combines a strong liberal education with specialized training; Since engineering technology is essentially the application of concepts and principles derived... OVERVIEW Not long ago, countries with the cheapest labor dominated global manufacturing. With advances in robotics and automation, however, that has changed. Now, it’s the ones with the best trained engineers and technicians that have the advantage. Electronic Engineering Technologists are among the many skilled professionals who keep advanced manufacturing facilities up and running. They serve as a nexus between engineers and technicians. From conception to design, development, testing, and production, they are essential to the production process. Moreover, the skills they possess are transferable to most any manufacturing operation throughout the world. At the moment, automation is allowing the United States toregain global market, but other nations working to catch up. However, a lack of skilled workers is slowing growth. A study by Deloitte, recently revealed that in the United States alone, nearly 3.5 million jobs must be filled over the next decade, yet only about 1.5 million people will possess the necessary skills to do the work. For those who choose this profession, this means a real opportunity.
