Nearly every facet of modern life depends on the use of computerized systems. Businesses, governments and private individuals need these tools to organize and share information. Those with a BSc in Computer Technology have the skills to design, support and optimize these devices to solve problems, increase productivity, and improve lives.

What is a BSc in Computer Technology? It is a four year degree offered by many universities. It focuses on developing skills for working with modern computerized systems. Many areas of specialization are offered. Students may focus on areas involving the use and design of hardware or software. After finishing their degree programs, students are prepared to develop, design, and implement computer technology in ways that improve operational efficiencies and organize information systems.

These programs develop critically important technical skills. Areas of study include both the hardware and software most commonly used by modern computer systems. Analytical reasoning abilities are enhanced and students are able to troubleshoot common technical problems. In addition to being familiar with the technology, students are often taught basic business theories to help them identify where their skills best fit within the structure of any professional organization.

The cost of an individual program varies depending on the institution. Those interested in learning more should contact the admissions department of the school they are considering for fee and tuition information. The cost of materials, housing and transportation should also be considered.

A BSc in Computer Technology opens the door to careers in many industries. Depending on the area of specialization, students are qualified to fill rolls as system administrators, web developers, and network security professionals. Some go on to become software developers, and many find work in computer sales or as business consultants who design specific solutions for specialized markets.

Begin researching institutions as soon as possible. Traditional colleges often offer these programs, but there are many online courses available as well. Search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
