BSc in English Philology
The four-year bachelor programme of English Philology provides undergraduates with an integrated study of the English language, literature, and culture as well as the basic knowledge of the methodology for teaching English as a second language. Thus, the programme trains students for various language-related professions involving the use of English, including the teaching of English in school.
The programme offers courses and seminars that focus on such aspects as:
• The structure of English;
• English literature, culture, and civilization;
• Communication in English, translation.
In addition, the undergraduates become familiar with the methods of linguistic and literary analysis and acquire a range of important skills, including the ability for abstract and analytical thinking and synthesis of ideas, the ability to communicate both orally and through the writing in the national language, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team.
