Program Description

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics is a three-year full-time course. It is based upon the BSc (Hons) Business Economics course delivered in the UK by the Westminster Business School of the University of Westminster (London). The BSc (Hons) in Economics is not intended as a purely theoretical study of Economics. The underlying philosophy of the course and its presentation emphasize the application of the relevant theories underpinning the Economics and Business fields. Students in this course develop solid skills in the economic analysis along with a strong foundation in advanced microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, quantitative theories and methods of economic analysis, research and forecasting. They are also offered optional modules pertaining to the theory of finance and management.

It is for those who wish:

  • To become a professional in the field of economics (in an organisation in the public and/or private sector)in both public and private sector organisations, providing advice on economic policy, and financial analysis in an international and national environment;
  • To become a general manager working in either the public or private sector;
  • To pursue academic career by teaching and conducting research on pressing issues in the theoretical and empirical Economics

Entry Requirements:

  • English – at least IELTS 6,0 (writing 6,0) or TOEFL 82 iBT
  • Maths – at least 40% in WIUT Maths Exam or a certificate proving maths competence (GCSE, SAT)
