Program Description

BSc Film & Television Production (Hons)

This programme offers a broad base to production and post-production including camera, studio roles, editing skills, digital compositing and visual effects. Presentation, design, animation, and techniques for motion graphics are also included.

It affords the opportunity to acquire both the latest techniques and traditional skills in television and film production and post-production. On successful completion of this programme, students would be able to: demonstrate proficiency in camera and studio techniques, analyze, design, and create motion graphics and visual effects, produce and manage assets in a variety of media (film, text, image, animation, sound, video).

Individuals will work independently and as part of a team, utilizing emerging technologies related to the production and post-production industries to produce a portfolio of work that demonstrates a strong technical, social, ethical and legal awareness for the entertainment industry.

The university currently has a partnership agreement with BBC Training and Development in which they will be inputting lectures and practical studio sessions as part of the programme.

The following is an indication of current programme content. However, the rapidly changing nature of the subject area means that both the courses offered, and individual course content, may vary in future years.
