BSc Design & Construction Management (Hons)
Major building projects are now so complex that large numbers of different organisations are involved in their completion. These organisations need to be co-ordinated so that, at the planning stage, the designers communicate relevant information to each other and, at the construction stage, the various parties involved work to a co-ordinated plan. This programme is a result of co-operation between the industrial and academic worlds and provides a sound foundation for a management career in the construction industry.
The overall aim of the programme is to produce honours graduates with the intellectual skills, knowledge and understanding necessary for a professional role as a Chartered Building Surveyor and for research in construction and related disciplines. Our aims are developed from dialogue with a number of leading construction organisations.
The aims of the programme are:
- To foster interdisciplinary understanding and develop technical competence
- To develop international awareness
- To develop managerial skill and a commercial awareness.
